We build Implix from a simple observation: the most critical knowledge is rarely documented.

Business-critical knowledge is rarely captured in full in work instructions or process descriptions. It lives in the experience of long-serving employees: in exceptions, warning signs, and decisions that have become second nature in day-to-day work.

Implix helps capture this experiential knowledge before it is lost through retirement, a role change, or a handover. Conversations and existing documents become handover documents, process descriptions, content for training materials, and knowledge articles. Why we build this

Implix combines research, software development, and practical work with companies.

The foundations of Implix emerged from many years of applied research and software development at the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau. The founding team worked there for many years on digital solutions and gained practical experience in developing, operating, and continuously improving complex software systems.

These projects repeatedly highlighted the same issue: for companies, the challenge is not only where knowledge is stored, but how previously unspoken experiential knowledge can be captured in the first place. This observation became the starting point for Implix.

Wikis, learning management systems (LMS), SharePoint, and search systems fulfil important tasks: they organise, distribute, or find existing content. They do not solve the earlier task of systematically capturing experiential knowledge from conversations and documents. The comparison of Implix with wikis, SharePoint, and LMS platforms explains these different tasks.

Why we founded Implix

We founded Implix to close this gap before storage, search, and training. Experienced employees should be able to share their knowledge in conversation without having to write complete documentation themselves. Implix includes existing documents, structures the results, and prepares them for handovers, onboarding, and existing knowledge systems. The development of Implix is funded by the European Union and the Free State of Saxony.

Let's talk about the knowledge in your organisation that still depends on individual people.

One knowledge area is often enough to make visible which experiential knowledge exists and where critical gaps are forming.
